Osun PDP Mourns Ayodele Olayinka’s Passing
Osun State PDP submitted on Wednesday that it received with deep sadness the news of the passing of one of the party’s big wigs, High Chief Ayodele Olayinka.
High Chief Ayodele Olayinka, was until his death on Wednesday, the Risapetu of Ipetu-Ijesa, Oriade local government, and he has died at the ripe old age of 89.
The party in a statement issued in Osogbo and made available to Team@orientactualmags.com by the state Chairman, Chief Sunday Bisi noted that the late Chief Olayinka was a community pillar and a statesman, who brought dignity, wisdom, and purpose to public service.
‘Chief Ayodele Olayinka was not only the second-in-command to the revered monarch of Ipetu-Ijesa, but a community pillar, statesman, and one of the most steadfast leaders of our great party, the PDP, from Oriade Local Government.
Baba’s dedication to the ideals and values of the PDP remained evident through the decades of his active political participation and leadership.
A former Chairman of the Governing Council of Osun State College of Education, Ila-Orangun, during the Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola administration, Chief Olayinka brought dignity, wisdom, and purpose to public service. His role as a member of the Osun State Rent Tribunal until his passing further underscored his tireless commitment to justice and heart of service even in advanced age.
The PDP family in Osun mourns a colossus, whose voice, influence, and counsel will be sorely missed. His demise is a painful loss to the political family of Oriade, the traditional institution of Ipetu-Ijesa, and indeed, Osun State at large.
We extend our deepest condolences to the immediate family of the departed elder statesman, the Kabiyesi and entire Ipetu-Ijesa traditional council, and to all party faithful who knew and cherished Chief Olayinka. May God grant him eternal rest and comfort all those he left behind.
Adieu, High Chief Ayodele Olayinka.
