Osun Prominent Politician , Adebayo Ajeigbe, Dies At 75 … Gov-elect Adeleke  Offers Condolences, Calls Him ‘Pillar Of Support’ , ‘Father Figure’

Osun state PDP members, neighbours, family members and friends, spoke in sepulchral tones and had mournful facial expressions as news of the death of Chief Adebayo Ajeigbe spreads on Sunday.

The deceased had given no one signs of imminent departure from the planet earth,  there was actually no cause  for concern  as he was hale and hearty and had even joined Osun state Governor-elect, former senator Ademola Adeleke to attend the fidau prayer held for late Tafa Balogun, a former Inspector General of Police , in Ila – Orangun on Saturday.

Chief Adebayo Ajeigbe, a prominent PDP leader in Osun state, was until his death on Sunday, one of the most reliable friends and associates of the Adeleke dynasty.

The deceased, who had deep pockets, was a successful man in his own right.

His wife is also currently one of the high court judges in the state.

Ajeigbe  was a principal face among those who stood in support of the Governor-elect while seeking  Osun state PDP gubernatorial nomination in 2018 and 2022.

He also handled things for  the Governor-elect during the two gubernatorial elections.

Many people had as expected recognized his status and had visited his residence to either drop their CVs or asked him to put in a good word for them with the Governor-elect.

Team@orientactualmags.com  learned Chief Ajeigbe alias ‘Baba Gomina’  breathed his last at his Osogbo residence on Sunday afternoon.

The deceased, an indigene of Ororuwo, will be sorely missed by Osun state PDP members, friends and family members .

The Governor-Elect, former Senator Ademola Adeleke had since offered his condolences describing the news of Chief Adebayo Ajeigbe’s death as shocking and painful.

He has also called the deceased a passionate fighter for the less privileged.

He paid a glowing tribute to the late elder statesman, noting that his death was a personal loss having offered guidance and counsel to him over the years.

‘ Rude shock. I am still digesting the news. We were together all through yesterday at Ila Orangun. He was strong and well. To hear about  his exit just like that is quite shocking.

For me, the passing of Baba (Chief Ajeigbe) is shattering because the void of his absence is too hard to begin to contemplate.  Baba was a strong pillar who allowed so many of us to stand on his shoulders.

Thanks to Baba’s guidance, people not only dreamed but see them come to true as exemplified in my resounding victory in the just held governorship election in Osun state.

A few people epitomize the father-figure that Baba weighed on people like me, and this is the core attributes that drew many to his side. It never occurred to me that he will be gone so soon because just yesterday, we were together at Ila Orangun for the Fidau prayer of late IGP of Police and as usual, we discussed a lot of things especially on making impacts on our people when we assume office on November 27 this year’ he said.

While condoling the immediate and extended family of Baba over his demise, the Governor-elect  noted that as much as the passing of Baba was painful, ‘it is a reminder of the impactful life he lived  and an impression on us all to ensure the sustenance of the legacy of adding meanings to life that characterized his time here’.

“Just like many, who were privileged to have a taste of Baba’s good public persona, I will honour his memory by providing our people with good governance, which is his main preoccupation while alive.

I pray that Almighty God  grants his soul an abode in paradise just as I hope that family left behind are consoled by a life full of impacts that defines Baba, as they ruminate about this huge loss’ he added- Team@orientactualmags.com
