Osun SDG Projects: Commerce Commissioner, Ismail Omipidan Engage In Accusations, Counteraccusations

Osun state Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Reverend Bunmi Jenyo and Mr. Ismail Omipidan , who served as Mr. Adegboyega Oyetola’s Chief Press Secretary during his tenure as governor of Osun state , have engaged in accusations and counteraccusations over the handling of SDG projects in the state.
Reverend Bunmi Jenyo had in a statement issued in Osogbo accused Omipidan of promoting half- truths while also calling him a liar, but the former governor’s media aide has described this as an unsupportable statement.

‘The attention of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Osun state has been drawn to a frivolous claim of the Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the former Governor of Osun state, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola, that the Governor Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke administration was playing politics with the skill acquisition centres in Dagbolu and Iragbiji.
The nebulous propaganda, which the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) is known for, would have better been ignored but to set the record straight for the sake of Osun public and posterity.
The documentary approval by former Governor Oyetola, to hand over the Skill acquisition centres to the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, which can better be described as ‘audio approval’ was neither delivered nor implemented in physical terms.
Recall that the former Governor rebuffed all efforts of the incoming government for proper handing over, in every way, until November 27, 2022, when Governor Adeleke took office.
As a matter of fact, proper handing over of the Skill Acquisition Centers at Dagbolu and Iragbiji, to the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, was not properly done until the arrival of Governor Adeleke.
While the immediate past governor of Osun state reportedly approved that the centers be handed over to the ministry, forces around him stalled and blocked the handing over process. Powerful forces within the administration ensured that the handing over did not take place under the former governor.
We want to affirm that the centers were not physically handed over to the ministry before the immediate past administration exited office on 27th November, 2022.
However, on the directives of Governor Adeleke, the two centers under lock and keys were eventually inspected and handed over to the Ministry led by the Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Rev. Bunmi Jenyo..
Members of the public are therefore urged to disregard the noise of Mr. Ismail Omipidan whose duty is to propagate and defend the many lies and deceits of his paymaster’ he said.
In a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com on Friday morning, Mr. Ismail Omipidan denied being a liar while asking members of the public to form an opinion after judging the facts that have been given.

He has also accused Rev. Bunmi Jenyo of misleading not only his principal, Governor Ademola Adeleke but the entire people of Osun state over the true state of SDGs projects in the state.
Omipidan noted that Jenyo only claimed he (Omipidan) lied, but the contents of what he referred to as ‘his jaundiced statement’ has according to him confirmed that the Oyetola administration actually handed over the projects to the relevant government agencies.
‘In his statement, Jenyo said ‘We want to affirm that the centers were not physically handed over to the ministry before the immediate past administration exited office on 27th November, 2022. However, on the directives of Governor Adeleke, the two centers under lock and keys were eventually inspected and handed over to the Ministry led by the Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Rev. Bunmi Jenyo’.
Assuming without conceding that what he said is correct, what did he do since May when he assumed office?
The truth is that, if my statement is put side by side with that of Rev. Jenyo, it will be clear who between the two us is a liar. Did the government not move part of the Hospital equipment donated to Ila General Hospital to Ede? Did the government not later lie that it purchased the equipment? Did the government not lie that it constructed the Osogbo-Ikirun road from the scratch? Did it not later admit that it only completed it? Did the government not lie that it would give details of how much it spent on the phantom borehole projects since April this year? I can go on and on to prove that labeling one a liar squarely sits well with Rev. Jenyo and some of his colleagues, and certainly not me.
To the best of my knowledge, his jaundiced statement confirms he’s unworthy of holding a public office’ Omipidan added-Team@orientactualmags.com
