Otedola Posts Picture Taken With Wigwe At His New-Build Lagos House 2 Weeks Before Helicopter Crash

Chief Femi Otedola,  a business mogul , has mourned the death of  Mr Herbert Wigwe,  who was until his demise on Friday night, the Group Chief Executive Officer of Access Holdings Plc.

While paying tribute to Wigwe, Otedola also disclosed that he was at the top banker’s new-build house in Lagos two weeks ago in the company of  Alhaji  Aliko Dangote, where they had dinner together.

 ‘Exactly two weeks ago, Herbie and his wife hosted me and Aliko to dinner at his new-build home in Lagos. I will cherish and fondly remember my memories of time spent together with him over the years. Herbie, we will all miss you.

Your legacy will live on forever.

My heartfelt condolences go out to his children Tochi, Hannah and David. I pray God comforts them during this tragic time’ Otedola wrote on X.

He has also posted the picture taken with Aliko and Wigwe during their visit to the deceased top banker’s new-build house.

Recall that a helicopter with six people aboard crashed near the California-Nevada border on Friday night.

 Those aboard the ill-fated  helicopter include Herbert Wigwe, and Abimbola Ogunbanjo, the former president of the Nigerian Stock Exchange, NSE.

The news of the death of Wigwe had given birth to an outpouring of grief and condolences.

President Bola Tinubu described Wigwe’s death, as ‘an overwhelming tragedy that is shocking beyond comprehension’.

‘ President Bola Tinubu receives the news with shock and deep distress… and mourns these exceptional Nigerian business leaders’  the president’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, submitted in a statement issued on Sunday.

Kwara state governor, who is also the Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum,  AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq , has also in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Rafiu Ajakaye offered his condolences.

‘Kwara state governor/ Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum,  AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq joins the rest of the country to mourn the tragic death of Mr. Herbert Wigwe , a top banker, and some members of his family in an air crash in the United States.

The governor similarly sends his heartfelt condolences to the family of Mr. Abimbola Ogunbanjo, former Group Chairman of the Nigerian Exchange Group Plc, who died in the same crash. 

Governor AbdulRazaq said the incident was a huge loss to not just the Nigerian business community but to the entire country and its people who would miss the immense impacts of the two businessmen.
