The former Kwara State Commissioner for Information also called the birthday celebrant a mentor.
‘I felicitate Pa Shuaib Oyedokun on the auspicious occasion of his 90th Birthday.
There is no gainsaying that Baba is a living legend especially in the political realm. I can never forget his mentoring and his contribution to my political career and his role in securing Kwara State for the Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP).
I was a PDP national officer (Deputy National Publicity Secretary) when Baba was the Deputy National Chairman (South) of the party. But for his intervention in the Kwara State PDP crisis, it would have been an uphill task for Kwara to be in the mainstream by winning the General election in the state in 2003.
Baba’s 90th milestone comes at a time when his nationalist rare breed is vanishing. We thank God for keeping him alive for more service to humanity.
Happy Birthday, Baba’ he said.
A prominent politician in Osun State, Hon Adelani Ajanaku has also wished Alhaji Shuaib Oyedokun a happy birthday and he has ‘spiced’ his birthday wishes message with the cognomen of Inisha people.

A journalist, Mr. Akinlolu Abayomi has also sent a message of congratulations to the veteran politician, describing him as a father figure and a special person.

‘I specially congratulate Alhaji Shuaib Afolabi Oyedokun on his 90th birthday.
He is a father figure, and I hold him in high esteem. He is a veteran politician, and certainly, no one will present a chronology of key events in the second republic without mentioning his name.
I was a precocious child, and I began to read newspapers especially the defunct Concord Newspaper in 1982 as a Primary 2 pupil and the news and updates on the 1983 general election featured the name of Baba, who was the Secretary of NPN in the old Oyo State.
I was happy to meet Baba in 2005 as Fame Magazine reporter when he was in ACD which later became ACN and since then he has remained a father figure.
Baba’s political stature far exceeds his height, he is one of the oldest and best-known political strategists and one of the leading political figures in the country.
More importantly, Baba appreciates deep, thorough, and honest reporting, he attaches importance to ‘quality’ and he reads orientactualmags.com regularly and without prompting he accompanies his press statements or interviews with ‘gbemu’ that most political office holders will foot- drag and play hide-and-seek before making such available.
Happy birthday baba, igba odun, odun kan ni’ he said.
