Oyo state Labour Party gubernatorial candidate, Hon. Tawfiq Tayo Akinwale has congratulated Governor Seyi Makinde on his emergence as new Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum noting that he had become the first Governor in Oyo state to attain such a height in any political party.
Hon. Tawfiq Akinwale in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com by his media office on Thursday night however asserted that Oyo will become a Labour Party-controlled state next year.
He urged the Governor to ‘enjoy’ the position while it lasts as Labour Party ‘is coming to put an end to his admnistration through the support of the citizens next year’.
He also asserted that the Governor had to cut short his planned one-month vacation having saw the pace at which Labour Party ‘is moving in the state’.
The Labour Party guber candidate also stated that the OBIDATTI WALK which was over the one million target population ,was also part of the reasons why the Governor had to cut short his planned one-month leave.
He urged lovers of OBIDATTI, who had not registered for or have their PVCs to register to be recruited into the ADHOC INEC staff for the forthcoming elections in order that they can help safeguard the votes of the Labour Party while asking people who have their PVCs not to apply for Adhoc INEC staff roles so that they can vote for the party in the 2023 General Election.
It was reported on Thursday that Governor Aminu Tambuwal had resigned from his position as Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum while Governor Seyi Makinde had gotten named as his replacement.
‘At the moment, there is nothing like that . If he (Tambuwal) had announced his resignation, we would have made it public and official, but as of now, there is nothing as such’ the Director General of the Forum, CID Maduabum, however submitted on Thursday- Team@orientactualmags.com
