PDP: Keyamo Picks Holes In Atiku’s Resignation Letter, Sounds Note Of Caution

Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Barrister Festus Keyamo, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, has picked holes in the resignation letter sent to PDP Chairman, Jada Ward 1 by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar which was dated July 14, 2025.

He has also sounded a note of caution.

Team@orientactualmags.com learned that the minister in an X.com post on Wednesday noted that the timing and the use of the nation’s coat of arms is wrong.

‘Whilst I acknowledge that it is within your constitutional right to change political parties at any time you may wish, releasing your letter of resignation from the PDP during this week of mourning is clearly an attempt to draw the spotlight away from such a solemn occasion and direct attention to yourself’ he said.

Mr Keyamo noted that the former Vice President prepared, signed, and dispatched the letter in question the day after former president Muhammadu Buhari’s death was announced, accusing him of ‘demonstrating an obsession with a perennial presidential ambition, without sympathy or empathy’.

The minister also contended that it is wrong for Alhaji Atiku Abubakar to use  the Federal Government’s Coat of Arms in his private and political communications.

‘It is both morally and legally wrong to continue to use the Coat of Arms of the Federal Government in your private or political communications when you stopped being a functionary of the Federal Government more than 18 years ago’ he submitted while citing Section 6 of the Flag and Coat of Arms Act, Cap. F30, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004.

The minister noted that Section 6 of the Flag and Coat of Arms Act makes what Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has done an offence.

Such a misuse of national symbols by former government officials, he added, ‘would certainly lead to confusion everywhere’.

‘I have a bounden duty both as a cabinet member and a member of the Inner Bar to protect our laws and constitution’ he added-Team@orientactualmags.com  Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
