PDP Leaders Emphasize Importance Of Party Discipline, Unity At ‘Stakeholder Meeting’ In Abuja , Caution Against Deployment Of Military To Niger

PDP bigwigs gathered at  the Bauchi state  Governor’s lodge, Abuja for a ‘stakeholder meeting’ on Saturday and they have laid emphasis on party discipline and unity.

The PDP  bigwigs  also submitted that going forward , anti-party activities would not be tolerated in any form.

Team@orientactualmags.com learned that emphasis on party discipline and other resolutions were contained in a communique issued at the end of the meeting which was read out  by Governor  Bala  Mohammed of Bauchi state .

‘The meeting emphasized the need for party discipline and restated zero tolerance for anti-party activities and sabotage. No individual or group of individuals will be allowed to undermine the unity of the party and its processes.

The stakeholders pledged commitment to repositioning and stabilizing the party. To this end, the healing and reconciliation process is in progress and yielding results.

The meeting signaled that unity and loyalty are still core values of the PDP and would be rewarded.

All the governors and organs of the party solidly support the PDP Presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, and the PDP Vice Presidential Candidate, Ifeanyi Okowa, to rescue the stolen mandate in the tribunal and would do everything lawful towards achieving this.

The governors will work in partnership with the party at the state and national levels to ensure good governance, transparency, and accountability.

The meeting congratulated the party for impaneling the campaign councils for the off-session elections in Bayelsa, Imo, and Kogi states and urged the campaign councils to ensure victory for the party in the three states.

The meeting counseled the Federal Government to show leadership in curtailing the cost of governance. 48 Ministers and several Special Advisers and Assistants should be reduced to ensure the health of our economy.

The meeting advised the President, Commander in Chief, and the Government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria not to go into any form of war with the Republic of Niger over the recent military coup in the country. Rather, all tools of dialogue and diplomacy should be further employed’  the PDP leaders submitted in the  communiqué.

Attendees of the meeting that was called ‘stakeholder meeting’ include Alhaji  Atiku Abubakar,  former governor Ifeanyi Okowa, Governors Bala Mohammed (Bauchi), Ahmadu Fintiri (Adamawa), Duoye Diri (Bayelsa), Sheriff Oborevwori (Delta), Peter Mbah (Enugu) and Ademola Adeleke (Osun) , Godwin Obaseki (Edo), Kefas Agbu (Taraba), and Dauda Lawal (Zamfara).

PDP officials at the meeting include  Acting National Chairman, Umar Damagum, Deputy National Chairman (South) , Taofeek Arapaja, and  the National Vice Chairman (South-South)  Dan Orbih.

Conspicuous by his absence was Governor Amaopusenibo Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers state and this was understandable.

His political leader and immediate predecessor, Mr. Nyesom Wike  was the coordinator of the five governors of PDP-controlled states, who refused to campaign for the presidential candidate of their party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar ahead of the presidential election held on February 25, 2023.

The G-5  governors  were Nyesom Wike (Rivers), Seyi Makinde (Oyo), Samuel Ortom (Benue), Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia) and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu).

Wike had since gotten nominated as minister by President Bola Tinubu and he  was at the National Assembly complex for his confirmation hearing last week-Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
