PDP ‘ll Challenge Outcomes Of Ondo, Edo Guber Elections, Stand Against Electoral Fraud In Osun , Oyo-Gov Makinde
The nation’s leading opposition party, the PDP, will challenge the outcomes of the gubernatorial elections held in Edo and Ondo states recently while there will be disclosures about the alleged electoral fraud committed by the ruling APC, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, has said.
Governor Makinde, who said this after inaugurating the completed roundabout-testing ground-Ilesa garage road dualization project in Osogbo, Osun State, on Wednesday, also declared that the party will stand against electoral fraud in Osun and Oyo states.
He commended Governor Ademola Adeleke for completing the projects started by his predecessors despite political differences.
‘Somebody got distracted after the Edo and Ondo guber elections. He said they are coming for Osun and Oyo States. I urge you to show them pepper.
I want to assure them that the game is not yet over in Edo and Ondo. We are challenging the results in court. We are law-abiding people in our party, and we believe that whatever they have done will be revealed’ he said.
Giving his speech, Governor Ademola Adeleke said the project was taken to completion in fulfillment of his promise not to abandon the projects inherited from his predecessors.
‘Based on the plan of action, our administration has completed several projects across sectors. In under 100 days, we completed the Osogbo-Ikirun road dualization with full solar street lights. It has been open for use since then.
We expanded the inherited reconstruction of the Iwo-Osogbo road to include dualisation of a major internal road inside Iwo. We completed several abandoned projects inside Osun State University, including one at Isale Osun, which was neglected for almost eleven years.
Apart from our resolve to complete inherited projects, the road we are about to innagurate has significant importance for the economic well-being and safety of our people. Before our assumption of office, we had reports of multiple fatal accidents and traffic gridlock on this road. Many voters actually demanded the completion of the road during our electioneering campaign’ he said.
Governor Adeleke also directed security agencies and the road safety agencies to enforce safety codes on the newly completed road projects in the state while urging the Ministry of Works to consider installation of speed breakers where necessary.
The Oba Adesoji Aderemi East Bypass Ring Road project was initiated by the Rauf Aregbesola administration.
Important road projects carried out by the Adeleke administration within Osogbo metropolis to enhance connectivity include ; Osogbo/Iwo Road-Osogbo/Gbongan Road, Osogbo/Gbongan road’Osogbo/Ilesa road, Osogbo/Ilesa road-Osogbo/Ibokun road, Osogbo/Ibokun road-Osogbo/Ikirun road.
