Peter Babalola’s Exit From PDP ‘A Gain, Not A Loss’- Akindele Adekunle
The immediate past Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) , Osun state, Dr Akindele Adekunle has submitted that the exit of Elder Peter Babalola from the party ‘is a gain and not a loss for the party’.
Dr Akindele in a statement he issued in Osogbo and made available to Team@orientactualmags.com disclosed that Elder Babalola had engaged in anti-party activities during his tenure as chairman but however decided to tolerate him and look the other way in order to achieve the desired goals.
He also referred to Elder Babalola as a paperweight politician who has no genuine political followership that can hinder the party’s chances at the polls.
‘Based on his antecedents, while I was the party Chairman, I have known for long in the buildup to the last general election and gubernatorial election that he was not working for the party, but I had to tolerate him throughout my stay in the office.
He pointedly and obviously worked against our candidate , Dr Lere Oyewumi which was a glaring case of anti-party but I chose to look the other way because he was a political lightweight that has no followers and couldn’t have caused any damage for our candidates at the polls.
Thank God, he has, once again, demonstrated this and let me congratulate the members of our party, from the ward, local government, federal constituencies, Senatorial districts and the state at large that a political parasite has finally left the party.
I wish to add that the party is not diminished by any way, rather, the political virus that would have corrupted other loyal party members have been dealt a devastating blow.
Our ideals and commitment to helping His Excellency, Governor Ademola Adeleke to realise his mission and vision of totally transforming Osun state is sacrosanct’ the statement added-Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
