Peter Obi Says Young  Nigerians ‘ll Not Need To  Leave For Greener Pastures Abroad  If Elected President

Peter Obi Says Young  Nigerians ‘ll Not Need To  Leave For Greener Pastures Abroad  If Elected President

Labour Party Presidential candidate, Chief  Peter Obi has said if elected president next year,   the idea of having   young Nigerians sent abroad because of rising cases of lack of opportunities in the country will become a thing of the past.

Team@orientactualmags.com  learned Obi said this during  the official  defection ceremony  of Mr. Valentine Ozigbo to the Labour Party in Lagos on Tuesday.

Ozigbo was   the PDP gubernatorial  candidate in the  guber  election held  in Anambra state in 2021.

Obi said  the Labour Party  plans to take  over the country and hand it back to the people, saying Brazil was in a similar situation until recently but that  today Brazilians can feed themselves and export agricultural produce.

He restated his call for the nation to move from consumption to production.

‘The wealth of a nation is not determined by the landmass but the level of production in the country. Nigeria is not a producing nation, let’s go out and produce. Prayer is not enough, we must go out to work.

We don’t want Nigerians keeping their children in Canada. Canadians don’t send their children here. Today, Nigerian parents are exporting their children abroad and are living alone here in empty homes. We must reverse it. We must bring back our children. To change the nation we must make it stable and safe for all. People still think it will be business as usual, no. We must reverse it’ he said.

He assured Ozigbo and his supporters of equal opportunities in the Labour Party.

‘The Obi movement is driven by intelligent people with integrity and competence. Ozigbo has those criteria. He meets our criteria to belong to our party.

The inflationary rate today is 19.5 percent. There is a need to rescue this nation. Ozigbo has joined in the struggle to rescue the nation’  Julius Abure, who is the  chairman of  Labour Party, also submitted.

He also  promised Ozigbo and his supporters a level playing field  and equal opportunities .

‘You have equal status with all members and entitled to all privileges” he said.

Giving his speech, Ozigbo expressed delight in joining the party while noting that what happened on Tuesday was done  to formalize what had started earlier-  Team@orientactualmags.com
