Peter Okoye Apologizes On Behalf Of Seun Kuti, Urges Leniency… ‘We Don’t Give Justice, The Court Does’-Police
Popular hip hop act , Peter Okoye of P-Square, has apologized to the Nigeria Police Force on behalf of his colleague in the music industry, Seun Kuti, who currently has issues with the law enforcement agency.
Okoye, who condemned Seun’s action, has however called for leniency.
‘Quite an unfortunate incident and from reports, it seems Seun’s family was in danger hence the altercation.
When you understand what happens when a man is put in a situation to protect his family from any form of danger, our emotions get the better of us. I ask and plead that the #Nigeriapoliceforce accept our unreserved apologies for the unfortunate outburst and temper justice with mercy’ Okoye tweeted.
Spokesman for the Lagos state Police Command , Benjamin Hundeyin, had however promptly reacted to Okoye’s tweet and this had made it clear that Seun Kuti may get more than he had bargained for.
‘Just in case you didn’t know or have forgotten, we don’t give justice. The court does!
You may want to redirect this to the judiciary.
You’re welcome’ he wrote.
Seun had in a viral video hit and slapped a police officer many times on the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos.
It will be recalled that the Inspector-General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba had ordered the Lagos state police command to ensure that Seun gets arrested without delay.
The popular musician had however via his Instastory on Saturday night submitted that he was ready to face questioning from the police.
‘I welcome the investigation and I will give my full cooperation! I also pray to the IG that whoever is wrong should be indicted’ he said-Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
