Petrol Subsidy: Osun APC Accuses Adeleke Administration Of Keeping Hold Of Bags Of Rice

Osun state APC has asked Governor Ademola Adeleke to either announce the receipt of the bags of rice made available to the state by the Federal Government or distribute it to the people of the state.
The party has accused Governor Adeleke of playing a dangerous game with the bags of rice while claiming that it had been received by the state government twelve days ago.
‘It was authoritatively learned that five truckloads of rice with other items donated by the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration were sent to the Osun state Government as the state’s shares of bags of rice made available to ease things for the people sequel to the removal of petrol subsidy.
Up till today, the state government has not deemed it fit to announce the federal government’s gifts that was meant to support the people of the state’ , the state APC Chairman , Sooko Tajudeen Lawal submitted in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com by the party’s Director of Media and Information, Chief Kola Olabisi on Thursday.
APC added that there was no justifiable reason for Governor Adeleke to maintain a stone silence on the bags of rice from the federal government for good twelve days.
‘I can’t fathom the reasons why Governor Adeleke is finding it difficult to announce the receipt of the bags of rice made available by the federal government and also why it has been pretty difficult to distribute same.
Is Governor Adeleke waiting for the people of the state to die of hunger before he deems it fit to make these available to serve its purpose at the right time?
All genuine stakeholders in the Osun State project should plead with Adeleke to release the bags of rice sent to the state by the Federal Government to get to the needy on time as the purpose for sending it down is not to be locked up in a hidden warehouse in the state.
The diversion of the bags of rice by the state government as it is being alleged by some concerned discerning minds in the state would have a debilitating effect on the image of the current administration.
Again, if the news spreading like a wild fire across the state that Adeleke is trying to pull a fast one on the citizens by inscribing ‘Imole De Rice’ on it is anything to go by, it shall be resisted with all legal means.
I wonder if Governor Adeleke and his co-travelers are not ashamed that his government is nauseatingly too slow in respect of the handling of the mitigation measures and support for the people of the state when other states have since finished distribution and even started the second batch of cash transfer of N10,000 to citizens and the civil servants.
Adeleke must bring out the bags of rice from Abuja that he has been hoarding if his government is finding it difficult to provide its own support for the people of the state’ the statement added-Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
