Pilgrim Welfare Board Chairman Says Governor Adeleke Has Treated Osun Muslims Fairly
Chairman of Osun state Muslim Pilgrim Welfare Board, Alhaji Maruf Ishola, has described as unfounded claims that the appointments announced by Governor Ademola Adeleke have been unevenly balanced, and lopsided, asserting that the governor has treated Muslims in the state fairly.
The Chairman was reacting to the recent statement issued by the Osun state Chapter of Joint Muslims Action Forum (JOMAF) accusing Governor Adeleke of bias against Muslims in respect of the appointments he has announced so far.
Ishola in a statement issued in Osogbo and made available to Team@orientactualmags.com on Sunday submitted that the allegations leveled against the governor by the Muslim group are not only untrue but also ‘baseless’.
Alhaji Ishola, who said the beneficiaries of the first three appointments announced by Governor Adeleke on taking office are all Muslims, added that the governor has so far protected the interests of Muslims in his government.
‘The media report by a Muslim group called Osun state Chapter of Joint Muslims Action Forum (JOMAF) on the allegations that the appointments announced by Osun state governor, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke have been lopsided is baseless and untrue. It was an attempt to distract the working governor from fulfilling the campaign promises made to the good people of Osun state during electioneering.
It is on record that as soon as Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke assumed office on 27th November, 2022, he announced the appointment of three Muslims to positions of authority. The appointment of Alhaji Teslim Adekunle Igbalaye as Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Kazeem Akinleye as Chief of Staff, Government House , and Mallam Olawale Rasheed as his spokesman.
This was a clear demonstration that Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke has unalloyed love and support for the Muslims in Osun state.
Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke’s appointment of cabinet members and Special Advisers is fair and he has taken care of the interests of Muslims and we still believe and hope that subsequent appointments will continue to favour the Muslims’ he said.
Ishola however called on JOMAF to ‘continue to support the Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke administration in its efforts to develop the state’.
‘Within his short time in office, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke has taken care of the interests of Muslims and he has not been biased against them
I am of the opinion that we should continue to pray for Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke to have a successful tenure of office’ the statement added-Team@orientactualmags.com
