Police Confirm Killing Of APC Councillorship Candidate By Cultists In Abeokuta, Launch Manhunt For Them
The police have launched a manhunt for those who killed a politician, Adeyinka Adeleke, in Ibara area of Abeokuta, Ogun State on Saturday.
The deceased politician was the Ward 15 APC councillorship candidate, and he was preparing for the local government elections scheduled to hold in the state on November 16, 2024, before he was made to embark on an unplanned trip to the great beyond.
Ward 15 is in Abeokuta South Local Government, Ogun State.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that spokesperson for Ogun State Police Command ,Omolola Odutola, who has confirmed the incident , also disclosed that the police have launched a manhunt for those who killed Adeleke.
‘On 12/10/2024, a shooting incident and murder occurred at about 12:30 pm. A concerned citizen reported that unknown individuals, believed to be cultists, arrived in an unregistered Toyota Corolla sports car, armed with a pump action shotgun and a pistol, at Jide Jones, Oke-Ilewo , Ibara, Abeokuta.
The assailants opened fire, killing 40-year-old Adeyinka Adeleke, who was left dead at the scene before they fled to an unknown location’ she submitted while adding that ‘Investigation into the gruesome killing has commenced and members of the public are assured of routine patrol.
