Polish Investors Discuss Ogun-Guangdong FTZ’s Potential To ‘Fuel’ Investments In Nigeria During Visit To Customs CG  In Abuja

On Tuesday, September 26, a Polish delegation led by the Chief Coordinator of the Ogun-Guangdong Free Trade Zone, Dr. Abbey Onas visited the headquarters of the Nigeria Customs Service, Abuja.

A statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com on Wednesday noted that during the visit, Dr. Onas had recalled that his visit to Poland had resulted in invitation of the investors to Nigeria while appreciating the role of the Customs Service in making it easy for investors to operate in the country.

While soliciting for smoother relations between the Nigeria Customs Service and companies at the Ogun-Guangdong Free Trade Zone, Dr. Onas  also stated the need for the Acting Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, to visit the Free Trade Zone.

The Technical director of ZGM Investment Group, Architect Zakirudeen Oladotun also submitted that the essence of the visit was to introduce the investors to the structure in charge of importations cognizant that some of their businesses would make them have things to do with the NCS.

The investment team assured the Nigeria Customs Service of their readiness to abide by rules and regulations in order to ensure a mutually beneficial relationship between Nigeria and Poland.

Also speaking, the Deputy Comptroller-General, Human Resources Development, Greg Itotoh lauded the Ogun-Guangdong Free Trade Zone for aiding the transfer of technology to the locals. He also appreciated   investors at the free trade zone for ensuring compliance   in terms of accuracy of their calculations of raw materials with regard to  payment of duties.

JP Ajoku, the DCG, Excise, FTZ and Industrial Incentives, also urged the team to be customs and excise compliant while adding that they should be free to consult with the NCS if there is a need for clarification.

The Acting Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service, Bashir Adeniyi,  promised that  he would visit the Free Trade Zone at a mutually convenient time while assuring  the team that ‘the door is always open’ as the NCS will  remain approachable.

He also wished the team a happy stay in Nigeria and a safe journey back to Poland-Team@orientactualmags.com
