Popular Islamic Scholar, Sheikh Abdulwahab Afonta, Laid To Rest In Osogbo…Gov Adeleke Offers Condolences
A popular Islamic preacher in Osogbo, Osun state, Sheikh Banni Abdulwahab Afonta , has been laid to rest in the Osun state capital.
The deceased Islamic preacher , an indigene of Ilorin, Kwara state , died on Saturday.
Sources told Team@orientactualmags.com that the popular Islamic preacher , who died at 70, attended an Islamic event on Thursday, joined other faithful to observe the Jumat prayer on Friday and was preparing to attend an Islamic event on Saturday when he complained that he was feeling feverish, and he later died.
He was one of the most influential Muslims in Osun state and he had thorough his sermons and lectures made faith alive in the heart of every Muslim in the State of the Living Spring.
Governor Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke on Saturday described the news of the popular Islamic preacher’s passing as shocking.
The governor, who offered his condolences through the press release issued by his Special Adviser, Mr Olawale Rasheed which was made available to Team@orientactualmags.com said the deceased Islamic scholar was known for his vast knowledge and great efforts in the propagation of Islamic message and virtues of our beloved prophet of Allah in the simplest possible way.
‘I received with shock and sadness the news of the death of a popular Islamic cleric, Sheikh Banni Abdulwahab. As faithful, we accept the judgment of our creator. We beseech Him to grant the scholar al-Jannah Firdaus.
This, indeed, is sad news. The death of Sheikh Banni Abdulwahab is a huge loss for the Muslim community and for Òṣun state in particular. He was known for his vast knowledge and great efforts in the propagation of Islamic message and virtues of our beloved prophet of Allah in the simplest possible way for his audience.
