POS Agent Arrested In Kwara For Embarking On Spending Spree After N280m Was Wrongfully Credited To His Bank Account
A Point of Sale (POS) agent has been arrested in Ilorin, Kwara state, and taken into custody by the police.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned ‘he is facing questioning by the police’ over a sum of money that was accidentally paid into his bank account which he had obviously considered as ‘manna from heaven’.
.
Alfa Rafiu, a resident of Akuji compound, Abayawo area of Ilorin, the Kwara state capital, had allegedly embarked on a spending spree after 280 million naira was wrongfully credited to his bank account.
While many were asking questions and involuntarily providing probable answers; friends, family members and co-residents were open-mouthed in disbelief wondering how a POS agent could have suddenly become a millionaire ?
Rafiu however showed that he is a good-natured person as he bought houses and sponsored people to Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah. While many had insinuated that he may have been involved in Yahooplus, others were quick to say that he may have hit the jackpot during the recent naira crisis.
Beneficiaries of this act of kindness, who are currently in Saudi Arabia, would no doubt be disappointed that their sponsor ‘is in the soup’.
Retaining or spending money wrongful credited to a bank account may make the owner of such a bank account get punished under the Theft Act 1968.
In a telephone interview with Team@orientactualmags.com on Wednesday morning, Spokesman for the Nigeria Police Force in Kwara state, Mr. Ajayi Okasanmi, a Superintendent of Police, confirmed that a POS agent was arrested in Ilorin but added that the cops that picked him up were from Lagos state.
It was gathered that the cops that arrested Alfa Rafiu are from the Force Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (FCIID) Alagbon, Lagos- Team@orientactualmags.com
