Post-Guber Election Case: How I Was Made To Pay $10,000 Airfare For Spiritualists Brought From Senegal-Bayelsa Gov
Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State has reaffirmed his faith in God noting that this had helped him to secure and ‘protect’ the governorship seat rather than seeking supernatural powers.
The governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Daniel Alabrah noted in a statement he issued on Saturday that Diri disclosed this while giving his speech during the thanksgiving service held at Sampou, Kolokuma/Opokuma Local Government, on Friday.

Sampou is the governor’s community, and he disclosed that in 2020 whilst the post- 2019 guber election case was ongoing, a prominent Nigerian had invited him to Abuja and advised him to perform certain rituals in order to become the governor but that he however refused to accept the proposal.
The governor added that he had then filed a lawsuit against the APC guber candidate David Lyon, who had been declared as governor-elect, and the apex court was about to take a decision on the matter.
The governor told the gathering that the prominent Nigerian in question invited some marabouts from Senegal to perform the rituals, adding that when he rejected the offer, the man demanded a refund of the money he had spent on airfare, and he was made to part with the sum of $10,000.
Governor Diri also noted that his unshaken faith in God made him reject the advice to look elsewhere for help, saying God, against all odds eventually proved that He is always faithful.
‘When the Supreme Court’s pronouncement came, the man was shocked and could not call me. Sadly, he passed on after some time.
The story I have narrated was witnessed by my deputy and a friend in Abuja as both of them accompanied me to visit the senior citizen’ the governor said-Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
