Dr Goodluck Jonathan was the only former president that joined other dignitaries and political bigwigs to attend the 62nd Independence Day celebration at the Eagle Square, Abuja on Saturday.
While former Military president Ibrahim Babangida’s absence was understandable, others including Chief Olusegun Obasanjo and retired General Abdulsalami Abubakar had attended public events earlier this week.
It was the last Independence Day ceremony that President Muhammadu Buhari would be attending as an executive president.
