President Tinubu, NGF, Gov Adeleke Mourn Temitayo Oluwatuyi’s Passing

President Bola Tinubu has expressed his heartfelt condolences to the government and people of Ondo State over the passing of the Secretary to the State Government,  Mr Temitayo Oluwatuyi.

The president’s condolence message was conveyed in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Mr Bayo Onanuga, on Saturday.

‘President Bola Ahmed Tinubu commiserates with the Government and people of Ondo State over the death of Temitayo Oluwatuyi, the Secretary to the State Government.

 The President condoles with the political stalwart’s family, friends, and political associates. Governor Rotimi Akeredolu first appointed him as the SSG in 2020.

Oluwatuyi served with distinction and much recognition before his reappointment by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

President Tinubu acknowledges the diligence of the former Chairman of Akure South Local Government and Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs in strengthening democracy in the state.

The President believes Oluwatuyi served the people of Ondo State with unwavering dedication, providing the necessary backbone for policy coordination and implementation and significantly contributing to the state’s progress.

The President prays that the Almighty God will receive the departed’s soul and bring comfort and solace to his grieving family’ the statement said.

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has also offered his condolences to his Ondo State counterpart, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa over the demise of Mr Tayo Oluwatuyi.

The governor in a statement issued in Osogbo and made available to Team@orientactualmags.com  by his Spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed described the news of the death of the late Ondo SSG as a rude shock, describing him as a vibrant and loyal servant of the people of Ondo State.

He also condoled with the immediate and entire family of Mr Tayo Oluwatuyi, the Ondo State Government and the people of Ondo State, adding that Tayo Oluwatuyi will be greatly missed.

‘I wish to commiserate with my brother, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State over the demise of the Secretary to the Ondo State Government, Mr Tayo Oluwatuyi.

Tayo Oluwatuyi was during his lifetime a vibrant and loyal servant of the people of Ondo State. His vacuum will be very difficult to fill.

I extend my condolences to the immediate and entire Oluwatuyi family, the Ondo State Government and the people of Ondo State. No doubt Tayo Oluwatuyi will be greatly missed.

We pray that his gentle soul rest in perfect peace’ the governor noted.

The Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF)  has also mourned Mr. Tayo Oluwatuyi’s passing .

Chairman of the NGF, Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq noted in a statement he issued in Ilorin that the Forum received the news of Mr. Tayo Oluwatuyi’s passing with shock and profound sadness.

‘The Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) received with shock and profound sadness the news of the death of the Secretary to the Ondo State Government Mr. Tayo Oluwatuyi.

The SSG reportedly died from the injuries he had earlier sustained in an auto crash mid December 2024. 

The Forum sends its heartfelt condolences to His Excellency, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the family of the late SSG, and the people of Ondo State on the sad development. 

The Forum prays for the repose of the soul of Mr. Oluwatuyi, beseeching God to grant the government and his family the strength to bear this heavy loss of the senior public officer’ the statement added. 

Recall that Ondo State Commissioner for Information and Orientation , Hon Wale Akinlosotu, had earlier in the day announced  Oluwatuyi’s death.

He described the late SSG as a dedicated public servant who served the state meritoriously.

‘It is with profound sadness that the Government of Ondo State announces the passing of Hon. Temitayo Oluwatuyi, Secretary to the State Government, on January 4, 2025.

He was involved in a ghastly car accident on Sunday, December 15, 2024, while travelling to Ibadan and was subsequently hospitalized.

Hon. Oluwatuyi was a dedicated public servant whose unwavering commitment to administrative coordination, policy advisory, and implementation had a significant impact on Ondo State.

He served with distinction and played a crucial role in the state government, working closely with the Governor and other top officials of Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).

Having served the government in various capacities, including as Chairman of Akure South Local Government, Commissioner and twice as SSG, Hon. Oluwatuyi will forever be remembered for his invaluable contributions to the development of Ondo State.
