He stood, always, ramrod straight; unmoved by the temptation of power, unseduced by applause and unafraid of the loneliness that often visits those who do what is right’ he said.
The president recalled late General Buhari’s journey from a young soldier to his emergence as military Head of State in 1983 and later as the first person to defeat a sitting president in Nigeria in 2015.
‘Mai Gaskiya, The People’s General – your duty is done’ he added.
Late General Muhammadu Buhari served as Head of State from 1983 to 1985 and as civilian president from 2015 to 2023.
