President Tinubu Urges Unity Of Effort To Solve Nation’s Problems During Iftar Dinner With Governors In Abuja

President Bola Tinubu has called for unity of effort to address the nation’s problems while also urging national unity.

The president had Iftar Dinner with the state governors at the State House ,Abuja on Thursday during which he emphasized the need for  collective actions that would see the nation through the current phase.

He also urged state governors to set aside political differences and focus on governance noting that the country is no longer in the state he had met it since assuming office nine months ago.

The president however assured Nigerians that the ‘tunnel is not as dark as when we started’.

‘Since we recognise the need to build our nation together, the time for politics is over. It is now time for governance’ a statement issued by the president’s media aide, Ajuri Ngelale quoted him to have submitted while giving his speech during the Iftar dinner.

Muslims are ordered to fast from dawn to sunset during the month of Ramadan and Iftar is the evening meal they take after the sun has gone down.

Emphasizing the significance of the holy month of Ramadan and the Lenten season for the Muslims  and Christians respectively, President Tinubu urged Nigerians to use this solemn season for reflection, prayers, and charity towards others.

He said : ‘Your excellencies, it is a very great honour to have you here to share the breaking of the fast. What I just want to say is the promotion of the message of the month of Ramadan which coincides with the Christian Lent.

This overlapping period is very valuable to our country. And we should utilise it to pray more for our country and be good to one another and our neighbours.

We are of the same family and parents; living in the same house, but sleeping in different rooms. We must cooperate and spread love among each other’.

Commenting on the difficulties facing the nation, Tinubu expressed optimism about the future while asserting that the challenges are beginning to respond to the solutions being implemented by his administration.

‘I am glad that the headwinds are almost over. The tunnel is not as dark as when we started. It is going to be brighter and brighter. We must communicate with each other, stick together, and share joy’ he  said.

Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum ,who is also the governor  of Kwara state , Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq commended the Federal Government for distributing 42,000 tons of grains, emphasizing the importance of collaborative efforts between the federal government and  the sub-nationals in addressing collective challenges.

Commenting on the payment of wage awards to workers at the state level, AbdulRazaq promised that the states would do the right thing.

‘Wet season farming is almost here, and I want to implore all governors to engage in the farming business, so that we can all appreciate the challenges of ordinary farmers and ensure that we have a bumper harvest at the end of the farming season’ he submitted .

Team@orientactualmags.com  learned that  Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, who led his colleagues to the State House for the Iftar Dinner,  later noted in a social media post that on behalf of the state governors, he assured the president  that ‘we will do everything at the sub- national level to work with the Federal Government in service to our people’.

‘Tonight, I led my colleagues at the Nigeria Governors’ Forum for an iftar (breaking of Ramadan fast) with the President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, at the State House, Abuja.

Hosted by the President himself, the iftar was a moment to briefly reflect on the state of the nation  and a need to convert the challenges we currently face to greater opportunities for growth. Leveraging the Ramadan and Lenten season, the President spoke on the need for national unity and collective actions that would see us through the current phase.

In response to Mr. President’s gracious appeal for unity of effort across party lines to build our fatherland, I assured him on behalf of my colleagues that we will do everything at the subnational level to work with the Federal Government in service to our people, especially with respect to public welfare, food security, infrastructural development, and other efforts that will grow the economy, create jobs, and bring more ease to the people’ he  submitted in a social media post on Thursday–Team@orientactualmags.com  Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
