RAAMP: Kwara Announces 84.7Km Rural Road Construction Projects Worth ₦9.3b

The Kwara state Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP) has announced road construction contracts worth  ₦9.3 billion which would help to ease vehicular movement in the state and also improve the lives of rural dwellers.

A statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com by Mr Ishola Gbenga Emmanuel, who is the Development Communication Officer (DCO) of Kwara RAAMP, said the Project Coordinator, RAAMP, Engr. (Dr.) Isaac Kolo, disclosed this during the signing  ceremony of  contract agreement papers with the contractors that would handle the projects in question in Ilorin, the state capital.

The Coordinator, who described the Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq administration as result and people-oriented, commended the governor for opening up more rural roads in the state to further enhance economic activities in the rural areas and make life more bearable for the people of the state, especially the rural dwellers.

Dr. Kolo expressed confidence in the governor, describing him as a leader who has done well by putting Kwara on the right path while also adding that he has justified the trust reposed in him by Kwarans.

The Coordinator, therefore, called on the approved contractors not to let the state government, and RAAMP down by delivering ‘quality job’ and following the terms of the contract agreement strictly to ensure that  they take the projects to completion before the 18-month completion period.

In his goodwill message, the Director, Tundis Nigeria Limited, Engr. Joseph Faboyo, who spoke on behalf of the contractors, expressed their appreciation to the state government under Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s leadership for his foresight and partnership with them, in order to bring relief to Kwarans, and also thanked the Kwara RAAMP for counting the companies worthy of handling  the road construction contracts.

Also speaking, the  representative of the State Project Management Committee (SPMC), Barr. Moyosore Rasheed, urged the contractors to see the  road construction contracts  as a rare privilege, which should encourage them to deliver a good job, pointing out that ‘to whom much is given, much is required’.

In his vote of thanks, the Kwara RAAMP lead Infrastructure Engineer, Engr. Isiaka Bashir Olaiwola, appreciated everyone for creating time to be part of the historic occasion in the life of Kwara RAAMP, noting that the approved contractors got the job purely on merit without pressure or influence from any quarters.

The approved contractors are RAFALI Nig Ltd, NBHH Nig Ltd, Fik Contracting Engineering Ltd, Tundis Nig Ltd, and Heriprom Engineering Ltd.

The road projects would be executed in phases, beginning with the first phase under Backlog Maintenance/Rehabilitation of rural roads of 66.5 Km in Asa, Ilorin West/East, Oyun, and Edu Local Governments.
