Rafiu Ibrahim, Bolaji Abdulahi Reject Kwara South, Kwara Central Senate Election Results…Ready To Take Legal Action

The senate elections held in Kwara South and Kwara Central on Saturday ,25 February 2023 may remain a topical issue for a little while longer as Alhaji Rafiu Adebayo Ibrahim and Mallam Bolaji Abdulahi , who were the PDP candidates for the respective senatorial districts, had not only rejected the election results but had also stated readiness to take a legal action.

It will be recalled that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had announced Architect Lola Ashiru and Mallam Saliu Mustapha as winners of the senate elections held in Kwara South and Kwara Central respectively.
Director of Media and Communications of the Rafiu Ibrahim Campaign Organization, Dr. Babatunde Salami, noted in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com on Monday that the Kwara South PDP Senate candidate has promised to take a legal action and do the needful to reclaim what he called ‘stolen mandate’.
‘The People’s Democratic Party candidate for the Kwara South senate election, Senator Rafiu Adebayo Ibrahim has rejected the election results declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
This is due to several reported cases of gross electoral malpractice and widespread electoral fraud by agents of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and officials of the Electoral Commission as against stipulated guidelines in the electoral act.
These actions violated the fundamental principles guaranteeing free and fair elections according to the electoral act. The Kwara South senate candidate will be taking a legal action to seek redress and reclaim his mandate’ the statement said.
In separate statement, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi has also rejected the Kwara Central senate election results.
Mallam Abdulahi , a one-time Sports minister, who was the PDP candidate for the senate election, alleged that the preliminary review of the election results showed substantial irregularities and manipulations that were ‘inconsistent with the provisions of the electoral law’.

He urged PDP members and supporters to remain calm, disclosing that a team of lawyers ‘are already studying the election results and would be taking appropriate legal steps’.
‘While the party explores the instruments of the law to prosecute its grievances, I appeal for calm across the district and urge our supporters to remain law- abiding’ he said- Team@orientactualmags.com
