Rank Pinning Ceremony Held For 96 Newly Promoted Cops In Kwara

Kwara State police chief, Mr. Victor Olaiya, a Commissioner of Police, on Monday presided over the rank pinning ceremony held for senior police officers in the state command who were recently promoted to new ranks.

 Spokesperson for the state police command, Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, a Superintendent of Police, in a statement she issued in Ilorin and made available to Team@orientactualmags.com on Wednesday noted that the badge-pinning ceremony held at the Command’s Headquarters, Ilorin on January 6, 2025, had 96 cops wearing their new ranks.

The statement added that ‘it is a testament to hard work and dedication to duty on the part of the newly promoted cops’ noting that this ‘calls for accountability, greater commitment to safeguarding public safety and security in Kwara State’.  

‘The notable promotions include:   Mukaila Yusuf (DPO C Division), who was promoted to the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP).

14 (Fourteen) officers including Olufemi Abraham {O/C Anti-Kidnapping unit SCID}, Nkama Onyekwere Oko {A/Cmd Ilofa}, and Babatunde Lateef (DPO Afon Division) have been promoted to the rank of Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP).

4 (Four) officers ; Adetokunbo Aladejare (O/C Legal SCID), Ihyom Aondongusha (DTO F Division Tanke), Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi (PPRO Kwara police command), and Ahmed Bata Mohammed (O/C Provost 15PMF), have been promoted to the rank of Superintendent of Police (SP).

77 (Seventy-Seven) officers including Orogbemi Dupe {2I/C Chaplaincy), Yusuf Zaharaddeen CHIRI (P.A to CP Kwara), and Idachaba Laraba Enemona (Legal Dept. SCID) have been promoted to the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP).  

CP Victor Olaiya psc(+) has congratulated the newly promoted officers and reminded them that the promotions come with more expectations; saying ‘to whom much is given, much is expected’.

 He urged them to enhance professionalism in combating crime and fostering positive community relations in line with international best practices.

The CP also expressed his gratitude to the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM; The Chairman Police Service Commission, Hashimu Salihu Argungu, (DIG RTD), mni, psc, NPM, for putting the welfare of policemen a-top-most priority.
