Religious Leaders, Pensioners, Party Leaders, Community Leaders Among Beneficiaries As Rep Bamidele Salam Distributes Food Items, Cash Assistance Worth Over N25m To Constituents In Osun
In the spirit of the Eid-el-Kabir festival, a member of the House of Representatives, Rep Bamidele Salam has gifted out over twenty five million naira to religious leaders, pensioners, traditional rulers and community leaders in the four local governments in his federal constituency; Ede North, Ede South, Egbedore and Ejigbo Local Governments.
‘Today, the Honourable member visited the association of pensioners and elderly citizens in his federal constituency and gifted them five Million Naira to celebrate the 1445 AH eid-li-Adha.
The lawmaker also made 20 bags of rice available to the retirees with a view to making this year’s sallah festivities a memorable one for them.
Presenting the cash gifts and the food items, Rep Bamidele Salam commended the pensioners for their roles in shaping the polity, declaring that they deserve all the care that a representative of people like him could offer’ a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com by Rep Bamidele Salam’s media office submitted on Sunday.
Rep Bamidele Salam also noted that the extension of gestures of goodwill during this period of time has shown that such an altruistic act must not always be motivated by elections or political exegesis but rather purely on humanitarian grounds as contained in the message of eid-li-adha.
While expressing gratitude to the pensioners for their unalloyed support for the current administration in the state before and after Asiwaju Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke’s assumption of office , the federal lawmaker , who is the Chairman, Public Account Committee of the House of Representatives , assured that he will continue to give priority to the welfare of pensioners in line with the good examples of Governor Adeleke.
Apart from having the pensioners, traditional rulers, community and PDP leaders in all the electoral wards in his federal constituency as beneficiaries of the kind gesture, Rep Bamidele Salam had earlier made cash gifts available to all the 30 PDP local government chairmen, all PDP State officials as well as key leaders of the party in the state.
The federal lawmaker, who is a one-time local government chairman, congratulated the Muslim ummah in his federal constituency and Osun state as a whole on the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Kabir, urging them to adhere to the tenets of love, sacrifice and unmeasured compassion.
‘I also urge our clerics to continue to raise supplications to Almighty Allah on behalf of leaders of all stratas in the country, for the required wisdom, strength and the will to better the lot of the country’ Rep Bamidele Salam added.
In their various responses to the kind gestures extended to them by the federal lawmaker, the Pensioners and community leaders described Rep. Salam as an exceptional politician who is always driven by selfless service in his activities.
They expressed gratitude to him for the regular support in terms of free medical outreaches, gifts during festivals, and proactive interventions on matters affecting pensioners and senior citizens in the federal constituency.
