Remarks By Speaker Owoeye At Campaign Council Inauguration Event Not ‘Inappropriate’ -Osun APC
Osun state APC on Friday rose in defence of Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Hon Timothy Owoeye asserting that the remarks he made during the inauguration of the Tinubu /Shettima Campaign Council in Osogbo, the state capital, on Thursday asserting that the immediate past governor of the state, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola will return as governor of the state before July 5 this year, was not in any way ‘inappropriate’ or ‘unbecoming’.
Acting Chairman of the state APC, Sooko Tajudeen Lawal in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com noted that Owoeye’s decision to wish his party and its candidate well in the ongoing legal battle at the election tribunal, did not in any way run riot with the laws of the land.
‘The earlier the grotesque leaders of the Osun PDP learn to appreciate the difference between Owoeye, as the Speaker of the House, and Owoeye as a principal member of the APC, the better for them.
The PDP’s vituperations over nothing are daily becoming alarming, irritating and disheartening.
The repulsive attitude should be a source of concern for the discerning minds in the society.
Why should Adeleke and his party suppress the freedom of expression of Owoeye because he has chosen to resolutely identify with his party in the face of contrived overtures designed by the new government to procure his loyalty?
We implore the accidental governor at Abere and the power mongers around him to contend themselves with planning how to navigate the huge administrative challenges before them, rather than heating up the polity with their nuisance and puerility.
Sunday Bisi, Akindele Adekunle and other farcical creatures fouling the peace of the state should note that the Right Honourable Timothy Owoeye has not broken any law by invoking heavenly favour for his party in respect of the petition before the governorship election petition tribunal.
It is within the purview of the rights of the transitory occupiers of the Bola Ige House to beseech the face of the creator of heaven and earth to close the doors of fortunes on them as the tribunal inches towards giving its verdict in the case of over-voting and forgery before their lordships.
This world is about choices. If misfortune is what they wish for themselves, so be it.
