Rep James Faleke Backs Out Of Kogi Guber Race, Cites ‘National Interest’

A member of the House of Representatives , Hon James Faleke , has announced his decision to bow out of the 2023 Kogi state gubernatorial race.
Faleke, who represents Ikeja Federal Constituency, Lagos state, was the Secretary of All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council (APC-PCC), and he was also late Alhaji Abubakar Audu’s running mate in the November 2015 Kogi state gubernatorial election.
Ahead of the November 11 2023 governorship election, Honourable James Faleke had failed to appear before the Senator Abubakar Sodangi-led panel that screened APC guber aspirants.
APC gubernatorial primary election is scheduled to hold on April 10.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned loyalists of Honourable Faleke across the three senatorial districts in Kogi state, had last month bought the Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms on his behalf.
Faleke in announcing his decision to back out of the guber race on Monday said it was because of national interest.
‘I am of the opinion that my personal interest must not override national interest. I, alongside several other supporters, worked hard for the election of our leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as President-elect of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
It would be out of place for me to jump out of the team to start pursuing personal goals.
The people that bought nomination form on my behalf meant well and I appreciate them. I am pleading with them and my other numerous supporters in Kogi State to see the larger picture and to note that I am still with them in spirit, body and soul.
I will continue to contribute to the development of the state’ he said- Team@orientactualmags.com
