Rep Wole Oke To Gov Adeleke: Your Assertions Incorrect, My House Of Reps Membership Beneficial To Ijesha North Constituents

Rep Wole Oke To Gov Adeleke: Your Assertions Incorrect, My House Of Reps Membership Beneficial To Ijesha North Constituents

Rep Wole Oke, who represents Ijesha North federal constituency in the House of Representatives, submitted on Saturday that the assertions made by Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State the preceding day in respect of the assessment of his performance are not only incorrect but far from the reality of the situation.

Rep Wole Oke

The federal lawmaker said the governor’s remarks betrayed an almost unvarnished misunderstanding of public administration, particularly the doctrine of separation of powers and the constitutional roles assigned to each of the branches of government.

Rep Wole Oke in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com by his media aide, Mr 𝗢𝗺𝗼𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗶-Sunday 𝗧𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲 noted that the remarks made by the governor ‘suggests a whack understanding of what the executive arm is mandated to do with the budgets at its disposal and the responsibilities  that fall within the legislative sphere’.

Recall that Governor Ademola Adeleke had on Friday flagged off road construction projects in Ijesha North federal constituency which includes the reconstruction of the bridge linking Ilahun with Ere Ìjèsà and while giving his speech at the event he had accused Rep Wole Oke of failing to facilitate any intervention or project to his constituency despite having his  5th term as a member of the House of representatives.

‘Governance is not conducted on social media platforms or through emotionally charged press releases; it is anchored on constitutional clarity, fiscal responsibility, and institutional collaboration. When those entrusted with executive authority confuse legislative oversight with executive execution, it exposes a dangerous knowledge gap that weakens public confidence’ Mr Omolebi Tunde however submitted while asserting that Oke’s membership of the House of Representatives has been steady, deliberate, and impact-driven.

‘His interventions have not been reactive to political pressure but rather proactive responses to genuine needs.

He has supported payment of fees for students across the nine technical colleges in the state, even outside his constituency, to the visible delight of the beneficiaries.

For the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), he has ensured payment of registration fees of indigent students.

He has facilitated projects through the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) across state-owned institutions.

He has constructed several classrooms where the state government abdicated its responsibilities.

Beyond these listed interventions are numerous silent acts of generosity, scholarships, community-based empowerment initiatives, and strategic facilitation of federal presence in neglected areas. His legislative experience has translated into real dividends, proving that effective representation is not about noise but rather measurable outcomes.

These interventions are not political theatre; they are responses to governance gaps left unattended by the state executive’ Mr 𝗢𝗺𝗼𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗶-Sunday 𝗧𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲 added.

The statement also said the recent step taken by the  governor in respect of the Ere-Ilahun bridge is politically motivated.

‘The governor’s sudden awakening to infrastructure needs in Oriade/Obokun, especially the Ere-Ilahun bridge, raises serious questions. The bridge and the adjoining road collapsed nearly two years ago and were captured in the state’s 2025 budget cycle; this is 2026 anyway!

For nearly two years, residents endured hardship, economic setbacks, and dangerous commuting conditions. Traders suffered losses, students risked their safety, and mobility within the axis was severely constrained, yet the silence from the state executive was deafening.

Upon learning that Hon. Oke dispatched a technical team and sought state collaboration for palliative measures, the state government rushed to announce contractor mobilisation by the member representing Obokun state constituency, Hon. Adewumi Irekandu.

Nearly two years later, nothing meaningful has happened. Now, with election fever thick in the air, the Adeleke administration suddenly remembers the same road and bridge. We can smell Greek gifts when we see one’ he said.

The statement also noted that the people of Ijesa North are discerning and can easily identify abandonment when they see it, and also know opportunistic interventions when elections approach.

‘They also know consistency when they experience it. They understand who has stood by them in moments of difficulty and who appears only when elections draw near.

If the governor believes last-minute kind gestures will erase years of neglect and marginalization of the Ijesa North people, he is mistaken. The people will respond in equal measure. And history will record who stood with them when governance failed.

History will also record who chose service over spectacle, substance over noise, and responsibility over rhetoric. Hon. Wole Oke’s track record reflects maturity in public service, depth in legislative competence, and sincerity in constituency engagement’ the statement said-Team@orientactualmags.com  Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
