Restoration Of ‘Historical Ties’ Emphasized During Alaafin Of Oyo’s Visit To Oba Peter Ipadeola In Ifon-Osun

Restoration Of ‘Historical Ties’ Emphasized During Alaafin Of Oyo’s Visit To Oba Peter Ipadeola In Ifon-Osun

Historical ties, past events, shared experiences, and others were given ‘special importance’ during Aláàfin of Oyo’s visit to the Olufon of Ifon-Osun, His Royal Majesty, Ọba Peter Oluwole Ipadeola Ilufemiloye, Akinyooye III at his palace in Ifon-Osun on Monday evening.

His Imperial Majesty, Ikú Bàbá Yeye, Oba Akeem Owoade I, the Alaafin of Oyo, was welcomed by ecstatic and cheerful indigenes and residents of the ancient town.

Olufon’s spokesman, Mr Akeeb Adekunle Yusuf in a statement he issued in Ifon-Osun and made available to Team@orientactualmags.com noted that Oba Akeem Owoade’s royal entourage include the queen consort , monarchs, high chiefs from Oyo, aides, and protocol officers while high chiefs, Baálẹ̀s, Olomo obas, and traditional rulers under the Olufon, the queen consort, members of the Ifon Progressive Union (IPU), and others joined the Ifon monarch in receiving the Alaafin.

The Olufon expressed heartfelt appreciation to the Aláàfin for honouring the ancient town with his prestigious presence describing the visit as a glorious moment of reconnection between two ancient thrones rooted in deep historical and spiritual lineage.

In a profound recollection of Yoruba history, the Olufon recounted how his ancestor, Ọba Aladikun Olaosha, Akogun Ẹ̀rùjẹ̀jẹ̀ Àdúgbo, the then Olufon of Ifon-Osun, was instrumental in the crowning of Aláàfin of Oyo during the formative years of the Old Ọ̀yọ́ Empire.

He noted that this sacred act had established a unique historical bond between the two stools and conferred exclusive privileges on the Olufon throne; which no other Oba in Yorubaland enjoys.

He listed these to include the right of Olufon to wear full royal regalia; crown, and shoes when visiting the Aláàfin, a kind gesture that symbolizes parity and mutual respect in a hierarchical royal structure.

The monarch also emphasized that Ifon-Osun has always maintained its dignity and relevance in the historical narrative of the Oyo Empire and the Yoruba nation at large. He also expressed optimism that the renewal of this time-honored relationship would bring renewed development, cultural revival, and unity between the people of Oyo and that of Ifon-Osun.

The Olufon prayed for long life and wisdom for Aláàfin Akeem Owoade while wishing him a peaceful, and prosperous reign.

Aláàfin of Oyo, Ikú Bàbá Yeye, Oba Akeem Owoade I, in his speech, expressed deep appreciation to Olufon, the queen consort, the royal council, traditional rulers under the Olufon, the royal family and the good people of Ifon-Osun for the elaborate and warm reception accorded him and his royal entourage.

This exceptional hospitality, he noted, is a reflection of the cultural richness and royal heritage of Ifon-Osun.

He acknowledged the ancient bond that connects Aláàfin and Olufon, emphasizing that the two thrones are divinely linked by shared history, values, and a destiny that calls for unity and cooperation while promising to preserve the sacred relationship in order to foster stronger cultural, social, and economic collaborations between Oyo and Ifon-Osun.

He also offered heartfelt prayers for the Olufon and the entire people of Ifon-Osun, Orolu Kingdom, praying for growth, peace, prosperity, and divine favour- Team@orientactualmags.com  Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
