Salihu Mustapha Declared Winner Of Kwara Central Senate Election As Lola Ashiru Retains Parliament Seat

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Mallam Saliu Mustapha as winner of the Kwara Central Senate election that was held on Saturday.

Professor Abdullahi Abubakar, who was the  Returning Officer for the election,  announced that Saliu, who was the APC candidate,  got  109,823 votes while  the PDP candidate, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi  had 69,202 votes.

Labour Party (LP) candidate, Alhaji  Faruq Akanbi and Dr Ridwan Apaokagi of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) also got 9,280 and 13,193 votes respectively.

Senator Lola Ashiru , who had represented Kwara South in the senate since 2019, would be retaining his parliament seat this year.

 Professor Ajibola Akanbi, who was the returning officer for the 2023 Kwara South senate election, announced Ashiru as winner   of the election in Omu-Aran , Irepodun local  government  on Sunday.

Akanbi said Ashiru  got  55,966 votes,  Rafiu Ibrahim of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)  had 34,950 votes while Professor Wale Suleiman of the Social Democratic Party (SDP)  got   24,215 votes. 

Senator Sadiq Umar of Kwara North would also be retaining his parliament seat.

Sadiq, who was the APC candidate, had  78, 015 votes, Alhaji Adamu Bawa of the. PDP  got 41, 443 votes, NNPP candidate,  Baba Kolo Jiyah had  3,140 votes while  Moses Rebecca of the LP got 1,947 votes.

Rep Tunji Olawuyi, who represents  Ekiti/ Isin/ Irepodun / Oke-Ero  Federal Constituency  in the House of Representatives, will also be retaining his parliament seat this year.

Team@orientactualmags.com   learned Dr Nurudeen Bello, the Returning Officer for the Ekiti/ Isin/ Irepodun / Oke-Ero   reps election announced on Sunday that  there were 59,075 accredited voters while adding that Olawuyi, who was the APC candidate, has eventually emerged as winner.
