SAPZ Project: Gov Abdulrazaq Commended For Boosting Agric Devt In Kwara Through Payment Of Counterpart Fund
The National Project Coordinator of the Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zone (SAPZ) Project, Dr. Kabir Yusuf, has commended Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara state for approving payment of counterpart fund for the implementation of SAPZ Project in the state.
In a letter of appreciation dated 19th April, 2023, Yusuf noted that the express approval of payment for the year 2023 counterpart fund for the implementation of the project ‘is a giant stride towards achieving the Project Development Objective (PDO) of the SAPZ programme in the state’.
Recall that a delegation of Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) officials had embarked on first supervision mission to Kwara in respect of the commencement of the project in the state from 27th to 28th of March, 2023.
The project, which will be fully -funded by the Islamic Development Bank and the state, is projected to boost agricultural production and economic prosperity in the State of Harmony.
‘We consider this as a great manifestation of your visionary and purposeful leadership with a unique sense of duty and responsibility in the course of governance’ he noted.
Dr. Yusuf assured the governor of continued engagement and technical support of the National Office for the SAPZ Project Implementation Unit (PIU) in Kwara to effectively deliver the promise and prosperity of the project to the people of the state.
In separate statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com, the State Project Coordinator, Kwara SAPZ Project, Engr. Dr. Busari Toyin Isiaka, also applauded Abdulrazaq for showing a lofty sense of commitment to starting the project, noting that the governor’s kind disposition to the project over the years ‘is remarkable and promising’.
Busari added that such a kind gesture ‘is a great testimony of His Excellency’s belief in the agricultural ecosystem as a driver of economic growth, social and financial inclusion’.
