Saraki Emphasizes Importance Of Community Development, Distributes Food Items…Breaks Fast With Religious Leaders, Groups, Others In Ilorin

Former Senate President, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki, has submitted that Kwara State will continue to remain at the forefront when it comes to propagation of Islam and the manifestation of the teachings of Prophet Mohammed.
His Press Officer on Local Matters, Mr Abdulganiyu Abdulqadir noted in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com that in the spirit of Ramadan, Saraki has also admonished the people of the state to rededicate themselves to community development and service to the underprivileged in order to engender a peaceful, united and crime-free society.
While acknowledging that there are challenges, he however noted that with prayers and collective effort, the state and the nation at large will overcome its travails.
The former Senate President, who has continued to have iftar dinner with various guests at his Ilorin residence since the commencement of Ramadan, thanked Allah for the grace of the holy month and commended the people of Kwara for their love, sense of oneness and sacrifices towards the advancement of the state.
Among those who have observed prayers and had Iftar dinner with the former Senate President are indigenous businessmen, artisans, transporters, political and non-political associations, party members and individuals.
Muslims are ordered to fast from dawn to sunset during the month of Ramadan and Iftar is the evening meal they take after the sun has gone down.



Saraki, who is the Waziri Ngeri of Ilorin Emirate, has also paid homage to the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Dr Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, and joined His Royal Highness to attend the Ramadan Tafsir at his palace.

The former Senate President, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, who has distributed Ramadan packages to individuals and groups across Kwara State, also visited Ile-Arugbo Charity House, where aged women were given cash, food items and food parcels for Iftar in the spirit of the Ramadan season.

In the meanwhile, Dr Saraki also at the weekend paid condolence visits to some bereaved families in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, during which he identified with them and assured them of his support always.
They include the family of the late Balogun Ajikobi of Ilorin Emirate, Alhaji Isiaka Yusuf, the royal family of late ACP Abdul Sulu-Gambari and the family of Mukadam Agba of Ilorin Emirate, Sheikh Sulyman Dan-Borno who recently lost his wife, Hajia Hajara.
