Saraki Emphasizes Importance Of Reconciliation, Unity During Meeting With Former LG Officials In Ilorin

Former Senate President, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki on Tuesday met with former councilors, supervisory councilors, and local government chairmen in Kwara State during which he emphasized the importance of unity and reconciliation in the state PDP. He also called for a renewed grassroots mobilization efforts.

Dr Saraki’s Press Officer on Local Matters, Mr Abdulganiyu Abdulqadri noted in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com that the former governor held the meeting with the former LG officials on Tuesday as part of ongoing consultations with party stakeholders and leaders at the grassroots level.

He appreciated the patience, loyalty, and sacrifices of the former LG officials, noting that their steadfastness through political challenges remained vital to the strength of the PDP.

‘The PDP remains a shared home for all of us’ he said, while thanking God ‘for the gift of life and the strength to keep pushing forward’.

Speaking in the spirit of the Ramadan season, the former Senate President urged party members to allow faith to guide their political engagements.

‘This Ramadan, I ask that we allow faith to shape our politics — that we drop old grievances, forgive one another, and reach out to those who may have stepped away from our fold.

We must keep our eyes firmly on Kwara’s collective interest’ he said.

He also submitted that reconciliation is necessary if the party is serious about rebuilding its structures and strengthening its grassroots base.

‘That kind of reconciliation is our starting point. If we are serious about rescuing Kwara and securing its future, we must continue to strengthen our grassroots base’ Dr Saraki added.

The former Senate President further urged PDP members in the state to move forward in unity for the benefit of the state and future generations.
