Saraki Leaves Ilorin With Message For Supporters, Other Kwarans, Says ‘Iftar Dinner’ Still Available At My Residence

Saraki Leaves Ilorin With Message For Supporters, Other Kwarans, Says ‘Iftar Dinner’ Still Available At My Residence

In the spirit of the holy month of Ramadan, President of the 8th Senate, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki, has directed that free meals should be made available  to members of the public for ‘Iftar dinner’ at his Ilorin  residence despite leaving the Kwara state capital on Monday.

Recall that the former Senate President  had arrived in Ilorin on Monday,  March 11, 2024, the first day of the holy month of Ramadan and  for eight consecutive days , he had played host to people from different strata of society including religious leaders, community leaders, party faithful, nonpolitical individuals, business owners, and youth and women groups.

Others are artisanal groups, market men and women, non-governmental organizations, and journalists among others. The guests also cut across the three Senatorial zones in the state.

Abdulganiyu Abdulqadir,  who is Saraki’s Press Officer on Local Matters noted  in a press release made available to Team@orientactualmags.com on Monday that his principal has directed that the breaking of fast at his residence  should  be continued till the end of the holy month despite his absence.

The statement noted that Saraki is billed for other engagements outside Ilorin and would be traveling for this purpose.

‘This, however, does not put a stop to the ‘Iftar dinner’ at his residence, as he has directed that it must continue even in his absence’ the statement added.

This, the statement also noted,  is in fulfillment of the teachings of Prophet Mohammed (SAW), ‘May the fasting people break their fast at your place, and may the pious eat from your food, and may the angels pray for you’.

Saraki  also emphasized that ‘Ramadan is a time for sharing and breaking bread together, and this  must continue among Muslim faithful and others’.

‘This has become more essential at this period of economic hardship, to ensure that despite the odds, we all observe the fast and enjoy the privilege of a meal for Iftar’ he added.

The Waziri Ngeri thanked those who have honoured his invitation since the start of the holy month of Ramadan and asked Allah to grant all their supplications.

He further urged the people to continue to pray, show love and live in peace, as ‘we diligently strive to make Kwara and Nigeria as a whole better’- —-Team@orientactualmags.com  Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
