Saraki Pays Emotional Tribute To ‘Dear Friend And Brother’ Rafiu Ibrahim
Former Senate President, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki on Wednesday paid tribute to his dependable ally, supporter, and loyalist, Dr Rafiu Adebayo Ibrahim.
The former federal lawmaker died on Wednesday at the age of 57 and salatul Janazah (Islamic funeral prayer) had since been held for him at the Muslim Cemetery, Ilorin.
Saraki was the governor when Ibrahim served as a member of the Kwara state house of assembly and also the President of the Senate when the deceased politician served as a member of the senate between 2015 and 2019.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that the former Senate President in a Facebook post not only said the former senator would be sorely missed but also lamented that while Kwara state and Nigeria have lost a leader, he (Saraki) has lost ‘ a brother’.
‘Inna lillahi Wa’inna Ilaihi Raji’un.
My dear friend and brother, Distinguished Senator Rafiu Adebayo Ibrahim, was truly in a class of his own—as a leader, as a legislator, and as a friend. He was always loyal, committed, and quietly tenacious in achieving his objectives and goals. He consistently demonstrated these qualities, both in and out of office.
Always just a phone call away and always ready to act for the greater good, Rafiu endeared himself to many, both within and outside Kwara state. He was known for always lending a hand, supporting initiatives, and empowering young people.
Today, Kwara state and Nigeria have lost a leader; and I have lost a brother.
As we mourn Rafiu’s passing, we thank him for his exemplary qualities and will miss him dearly.
May Almighty Allah (SWT) provide continued solace to his family, and grant him a place amongst the righteous ones in Aljannah Firdaus.
