Saraki Thinks Back To Kwara Under His Governorship….Expresses Hope For Positive Change
Former Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki on Thursday met with a group of brilliant young women from Ilorin South Local Government at his Ilorin residence in what he described as an inspiring and forward-looking engagement.

Dr Saraki’s Press Officer on Local Matters, Mr Abdulganiyu Abdulqadir in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com noted that the engagement forms part of the former Senate President’s continued grassroots interactions aimed at inspiring the next generation of leaders across the state adding that the young women, mostly between the ages of 18 and 25, represent a generation of people who were either very young or not yet born during Saraki’s governorship.
Dr Bukola Saraki served as governor of Kwara State between 2003 and 2011.
In his remarks, Dr Saraki, who is the Waziri of Ilorin , said the interaction left him encouraged about the future of the state.
‘Today, I spent time with a group of brilliant young women from Ilorin South LGA. As I listened to them speak, I could feel their hunger to see our dear state do better. It was impossible not to be encouraged.
Our conversation naturally turned to where we have been and where we are today. There was a time when Kwara State was more secure, when we focused strongly on creating jobs, supporting industry, and investing in education.
While it is clear that we have moved away from that path, I understand their frustration and believe nothing is beyond repair when people work together with sincerity and purpose.
That is why I reminded these young women that Kwara cannot rise without them.
Leadership must be inclusive, and governance must reflect the energy, ideas, and aspirations of our young people—especially our young women.
The future will not wait, and from what I saw today, Kwara’s future is more than ready’ he said.
The former Senate President emphasized that rebuilding the state requires deliberate inclusion of young people in governance, stressing that women must be at the centre of policy conversations and leadership opportunities.
He reaffirmed his commitment to a prosperous Kwara anchored on improved security, job creation, quality education, and inclusive development for all-Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
