
High school students taking the ongoing West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) at the Government Secondary School, Namnai, Gassol Local Government, Taraba State were left injured and hospitalized following an incident that occurred at the school on Wednesday evening.
The students reportedly sustained varying degrees of injuries while some among them were rushed to hospitals for medical attention.
The building reportedly collapsed following a heavy rainfall.
The students, teachers, corps members, and external supervisors, were reportedly trapped under the rubble of the collapsed building.
‘It was the second batch of students still taking their exams that got trapped. The first set had already finished and left.
The rain came suddenly with strong winds, and the old classroom structures couldn’t withstand it’ a resident, Alhaji DanAzumi Lauris, reportedly submitted while adding that the incident happened at about 6pm.
