Security: Kebbi Govt Takes Delivery Of 4 Armoured Personnel Carriers, Thanks President Tinubu, Defence Chief, COAS
The Federal Government has made four Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs) available to Kebbi State government as part of the ongoing efforts to strengthen security and combat banditry in the country.
A statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com by Governor Nasir Idris’ Special Adviser on Media, Mr Yahaya Sarki noted that the Kauran Gwandu inspected the vehicles in question at the Government House, Birnin Kebbi on Sunday after its formal presentation by the Commanding Officer of 223 Light Tank Battalion, Zuru, Lt. Colonel M.S. Saleh, and the Commanding Officer of 1 Battalion Rear, Birnin Kebbi, Major A.P. Azubuine.


Governor Idris said the provision of the APCs would significantly boost the capacity of security agents to confront bandits and restore peace, especially in vulnerable areas in the state.
He restated his administration’s commitment to supporting the families of fallen heroes, noting that Kebbi would continue to provide welfare assistance to the families of troops who paid the supreme price in the line of duty.
The governor expressed deep appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Chief of Defence Staff, the Chief of Army Staff, and other security chiefs for their unwavering commitment to addressing insecurity nationwide.
‘We are grateful for the deployment of military hardware to repel any attack by bandits, particularly in our vulnerable local government areas.
Kebbi State appreciates the Chief of Defence Staff and the Chief of Army Staff for sending armoured vehicles to strengthen security operations.
My administration remains committed to supporting all security agencies in achieving success on the battlefield.
Our communities have expressed gratitude to the military for their gallant efforts in confronting banditry.
I urge residents of the affected areas to cooperate with security agencies by providing timely intelligence to aid operations.
We also honour the memory of our fallen heroes and pray for the repose of their souls. Kebbi will continue to assist their families to ensure they live in dignity’ the governor said.
Also speaking, Lt. Colonel M.S. Saleh thanked the Military High Command for its continued support for frontline troops.
‘We are working tirelessly, day and night, to overcome security challenges, and we appeal for public cooperation through the sharing of actionable intelligence on the activities of bandits and criminals’ he said.
Major A.P.
