
A picture of the Chairman , Senate Committee on Media, Senator Ajibola Basiru standing with supporters at one of the gates of Ataoja of Osogbo’s palace, Osogbo, was made a topic of discussion by social media users in Osun state on Tuesday.
Was Senator Basiru Ajibola deliberately denied entry to the Ataoja of Osogbo’s palace or was the scenario enacted a mere coincidence?
This was the question that had since exercised the minds of residents of Osogbo with many among them providing probable answers.
Ajibola, who represents Osun Central and currently seeking to retain his parliament seat next year, was the Chairman of Governor Gboyega Oyetola’s Campaign Council and it was an opinion shared by many that the Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Olanipekun Oyetunji , had the governor –elect, Chief Ademola Adeleke as his preferred candidate ahead of the 16 July 2022 guber election.
It was clear that there was no love lost between Ataoja and the APC leaders including Ajibola, who is an indigene of Osogbo.
Sources told Team@orientactualmags.com that it was not that the senator originally planned to pay homage to the Osogbo monarch but that he had along with supporters took to the streets to sell his candidacy and they had attempted to enter the palace through the road used as a thoroughfare but surprisingly met the gate under lock and key.

It was not clear if the senator had planned to pay homage to the traditional ruler or simply passing by but having met the gate under lock and key , it was a clear message that he was in an ‘unfriendly environment’ and he had put ‘legislative fortitude’ to use and calmly left- Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
