Senator Fadahunsi To Tinubu: Appoint Retired General As NSA To Ensure Effective Coordination Of Security Management
To ensure effective coordination of security management in the country, President Bola Tinubu should appoint a retired General as National Security Adviser while the current National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, a retired police officer, can be made to serve in a role where the nation can make the best use of his competence, a member of the senate, Senator Francis Fadahunsi, has submitted.
Recall that Senator Fadahunsi had while having the floor during a plenary session a few days ago, demanded a comprehensive reorganization of the country’s military architecture.
‘The Minister of Defence is not a soldier or a retired general. The Minister of State, all of them are businessmen. The NSA is a retired policeman.
Do you know that these soldiers call us— even those carrying superior guns than theirs—‘bloody civilians’? And that is what is affecting us.
The Commander-in-Chief needs to look at the military architecture around him and do the needful. If not, we will continue to waste money because they will not take orders from any other person other than their own general’ he submitted.
Reacting to Alhaji Mohammed Abubakar Badaru’s resignation as Defence minister and the subsequent nomination of retired General Christopher Musa as his replacement, Senator Fadahunsi in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com by his Special Adviser on Media, Mr Sam Segun-Progress on Tuesday welcomed the development but however urged President Bola Tinubu to go a step further by ‘replacing the current National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, with a retired military officer for a more efficient coordination of the fight against bandits and other violent criminals’.
‘The current NSA should be moved to his area of core competence, where his skills can be better put to use.
