PDP presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and other party bigwigs are expected to attend a defection ceremony scheduled to hold today in Kano .
Team@orientactualmags.com learned representative of Kano Central in the senate, Senator Ibrahim Shekarau will be leading his supporters to the PDP and Atiku is expected to receive them into the party.
Shekarau had at different times enjoyed membership of the ANPP, APC and the PDP.
He had before the 2019 General Election left the PDP for APC , Shekerau got the Kano Central APC senate nomination and he eventually won the senate election.
Following the intraparty conflict in Kano state APC, Shekerau had defected to the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP).
It has become clear however that the relationship between Shekerau and NNPP presidential candidate, former senator Rabiu Kwankwaso has gotten strained as Kano state PDP Chairman , Alhaji Shehu Wada Sagagi confirmed on Saturday that Shekarau has accepted to return to the PDP.
‘Alhamdulillah, finally, we now have a leader in Kano and I am delighted. Shekarau, being the highest political office holder as provided by the constitution, has accepted and we have welcomed him back to our dear party, the PDP.
All arrangements are in top gear in preparation to receive Atiku Abubakar, who will be in Kano on Sunday, hopefully to receive Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau into the party.
We have accepted to follow him and we shall succeed, God willing’ he said.
