
The Deputy Minority Leader of the Senate, Akogun Lere Oyewumi , on Thursday presided over one of the sessions held during the 3-day Education Summit organized by the Osun state government which had as its theme ‘Getting It Right And Revamping Education Sector In Osun State’ .
A statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com called this ‘an educative and interesting outing’ noting that it marked the third day of the summit and had ‘Political Will And Stakeholders’ Participation In Education’ as the main topic.

Senator Lere Oyewumi , who said Governor Ademola Adeleke has declared a state of emergency in education sector in the state, added that the current administration in the state would ensure that the educational system is upgraded.
While giving his speech, Senator Oyewumi said the foundation of Nigeria’s Education is weak warning that if steps are not taken to rebuild it, ‘educational aspirations and expectations of our unborn children cannot be guaranteed’.
He added that the educational system in the country has experienced an ‘earthquake’ while education standard has fallen in Osun state and needs serious improvement.
Senator Lere Oyewumi assured residents of the state that the Governor Ademola Adeleke administration will implement fully the summit recommendations in order to revamp education sector in the state.
Governor Ademola Adeleke, he noted, has promised to continue with the rigorous reforms being carried out by his administration in the education sector in order to improve the overall developmental prospects of Osun state.
He assured the participants that all the National Assembly members from Osun state are equally ready to support and collaborate with the State Government to revamp education sector in the state.
Senator Lere Oyewumi, who touched on his vision statement, said he would be focusing on educational advancement, IT literacy enhancement, and employment opportunities, champion literacy excellence at all levels of education through financial support for students, promote ICT capacity among the young people, upscale access to Technology in schools, and skill acquisition while providing the needed enabling environment for the young people to explore and maximize their potential to add value to society-Team@orientactualmags.com
