Senator Mustapha Sponsors 200 Constituents For Poultry Farming Training In Ilorin, Provides Equipment, Day-Old Chicks
A member of the Nigerian Senate, Senator Saliu Mustapha has gotten 200 people in the Kwara Central Senatorial District empowered by sponsoring them for poultry farming training and making poultry farming equipment and 200 day-old chicks available to each of them.
A statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com noted that the presentation ceremony held at Senator Mustapha’s Constituency Office in Ilorin, brought together beneficiaries selected from across the four local governments in Kwara Central Senatorial District.
Speaking at the event, Senator Saliu Mustapha, who was represented by his legislative aide, Mr Tunde Abdulkadir, said the beneficiaries had earlier undergone extensive training in modern poultry farming techniques before receiving the tools and the chicks.
He noted that the programme is part of his broader efforts to tackle unemployment, enhance food security, and stimulate small-scale agribusinesses within his constituency.
The Senator added that the initiative aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda, which seeks to revitalize the agricultural sector and promote self-reliance among citizens.
Senator Mustapha reaffirmed his commitment to empowering more of his constituents through continued and targeted interventions, noting that agriculture remains a key driver of economic growth and youth employment.
He advised the beneficiaries to take the opportunity seriously by applying the skills they have acquired during the training to build sustainable businesses.
Some of the beneficiaries, who spoke at the event, expressed profound gratitude to Senator Mustapha for what they described as a timely and life-changing opportunity while promising to maximize the support to build sustainable poultry businesses.
