The Deputy Minority Leader of the Senate, Akogun Lere Oyewumi PhD , has visited the Federal Polytechnic Ede, Osun state to assess facilities at the institution and see ways he could use his good offices to assist the polytechnic for the betterment of the students and the staff of the institution.
A statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com noted that the senator’s visit was to interact with those in charge of the polytechnic , assess the level of challenges confronting the institution and see ways to correct the situation.
While congratulating the institution’s management for what he called ‘outstanding academic feat’, Senator Lere Oyewumi , also commended the Rector, Dr. Sanni Manyahaya for being focused and determined to ensure that the institution reaches greater heights.
Dr. Sanni Manyahaya expressed his deep gratitude for the visit and he appreciated and commended Senator Lere Oyewumi’s leadership qualities and magnanimity which many politicians do not possess.
He talked about the Polytechnic’s rapid expansion and growth over the years but however noted that low budget and funding have hindered the necessary upgrades in respect of facilities at the institution.
He equally solicited for support in respect of the infrastructural development on the permanent site of the Polytechnic, while also stating the need to erect perimeter fence to enhance security at the institution.
Senator Lere Oyewumi assured the Rector and the institution management that as a member of Senate committee on Tertiary Institution and Tetfund, he will seek further discussions with the Polytechnic’s authorities on possible specific areas of support while enjoining the team to work hard to achieve success.
