Service To Humanity: Anglican Church Honours Gov Oborevwori With Merit Award In Edo
Delta state governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori was honoured with an award of excellence by the Anglican Church on Saturday, and this was done in recognition of his developmental strides, exemplary contribution to the church and dedicated service to humanity.
A statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com noted that Governor Oborevwori was honoured with the award on Saturday, June 29, 2024, during the first session of the Eight Synod of the Anglican Diocese of Esan which was held at St. David’s Anglican Church Irrua, Edo state.
Delta state Commissioner for Works, (Rural, and Riverine Roads), Mr. Charles Aniagwu, who represented Governor Oborevwori , accepted the Episcopal Merit Award on his behalf.
The Diocese of Esan Anglican Communion honoured the governor with the award during the first session of the Eight Synod to acknowledge his significant and ongoing efforts towards the development and growth of the church both in Delta state and beyond.
The award ceremony was a momentous occasion, highlighting Governor Oborevwori’s dedication to good governance and his commitment to serving both the church and the broader community.
While appreciating the body of Christ for the recognition, Mr Aniagwu told the congregation that Governor Oborevwori’s leadership in Delta state has not only fostered infrastructural development but also promoted social and humanitarian causes, making a positive impact on the lives of many.
Aniagwu said Esan Anglican Diocese honouring the governor with an award underscores the importance of leadership that prioritizes community welfare and religious growth, while setting a benchmark for other leaders to follow.
He added that Governor Oborevwori has made tremendous achievements with regard to infrastructural and human capital development in the state in the past one year.
He noted that the MORE Agenda of the governor for Deltans is still on course, adding that he would continue to take progessive steps towards advancing Delta to enviable heights in the comity of states in the country.
‘The event at the Anglican Church in Irrua stands as a testament to the governor’s unwavering commitment to public service and the betterment of society’ the statement added.
In his remarks, Bishop of Esan Diocese, Anglican Communion, Rt. Rev’d Gabriel O. Elabor, congratulated Governor Oborevwori on the award describing him as a leader dedicated to the cause of humanity
