An Ilorin-based social commentator , who is also a member of the youth council , Kwara state PDP, Comrade Olusegun Olusola Adewara popularly called Sholyments has submitted that Honorable Raheem Tunji Olawuyi Ajuloopin, who currently represents Isin/Irepodun/ Oke-Ero/Ekiti federal constituency in the House of Representatives, ought not have sought to retain his parliament seat next year having spent almost five years in the green Chamber only taking steps to enrich himself and his family while allegedly leaving the welfare and the needs of his Constituents unattended to.
Sholyments in an interview with Team@orientactualmags.com on Sunday accused the federal lawmaker of insulting the sensibilities of those he called the already frustrated constituents with his recent assertion that his party, the APC will earn a landslide victory in the state in the upcoming general election when all he could according to him account for after almost five years as a reps member ‘is extravagant lifestyles and acquisition of luxurious Mansions in Omu-aran and other places. He added that the federal lawmaker had done this at the expense of those he described as ‘his suffering constituents’ .
Comrade Sholyments argued that the people’s mandate entrusted to Ajuloopin almost five years ago, had yielded nothing except more job losses and unemployment for our young people , increased spate of insecurity, banditry and terrorism including abduction of revered royal fathers in the federal constituency and their queens .
He accused Ajuloopin of turning Lawmaking job to mere “Fashionista and show off” saying he had only been busy flying from Abuja to Lagos every weekend wearing big Agbada to parties and spraying money on musicians while the people who gave him the mandate that made him become a federal lawmaker languish in poverty and fear.
‘For a lawmaker, who’s been in office for five years and unable to facilitate a single project apart from the ones facilitated by late Hon Funke Adedoyin to say he is seeking to retain his parliament seat means that such a man lacks any sense of moral judgment.
I don’t think Tunji Olawuyi Ajuloopin has the moral justification to come out and tell his Constituents that he is seeking to retain his parliament seat . Though it is his democratic right, we are however talking about moral justification, he actually needs to in retrospect assess himself and ask if he has done badly or not?
It is quite unfortunate that people around him are not courageous enough to tell him the body language of his constituents especially Isin people who felt that Ajuloopin and his party had robbed them of their mandate in broad day light, a matter that is still sub judice.
It’s important that Ajuloopin should know that people’s mandate entrusted to him is not a NABTEB examination where you fail and can retake the exam.
A Reps member, who has been in office for five straight years who just remembered now that he needed to organize town hall meetings just because election is fast approaching , this has confirmed how Ajuloopin and his party have insulted our sensibilities.
When I read what Ajuloopin highlighted as his key achievements for five years , I could not but shake my head in disappointment , I don’t understand why he’s having a wrong impression that our people are fools.
How can a reps member listed 5k he gifted about 20 senior citizens who are women as an achievement? A serious- minded secondary school prefect would not have listed such a ridiculous gift as an achievement during the end of the year party .
He also talked about sinking boreholes and to worsen the matter , he said some students gained admissions into tertiary institutions through him, he didn’t say he paid their tuition fees, isn’t this ridiculous too?
Let me remind Ajuloopin that Dare Bankole and Dr Rafiu Ibrahim ,who are not currently occupying any public office , have sunk more boreholes across different communities without making a lot of noise about it like our friend has done, they have facilitated more empowerments for different strata of people, without any mandate entrusted to them ,yet they have traversed nooks and crannies and touched people’s lives.
For Ajuloopin, the mansion he just acquired in Omu-aran and other choice places in Kwara including those he reportedly bought overseas for the benefit of himself and his family members are the only capital projects he could boast of, I believe his vision for public office is only to enrich himself and spend extravagantly for Lagos-based musicians just for self –adulation.
If we are to judge by many properties that Ajuloopin has reportedly acquired for himself in the last five years , it’s a big catch for him and I wish him long life to enjoy his loots . However , our Constituency no longer needs a selfish leader whose focus in public office is self -aggrandizement and living in opulence’ he said.
Sholyment also reminded Olawuyi Ajuloopin that he’s not yet a candidate for the upcoming House of Representatives election as someone, who was a major contestant and had earlier been announced as winner of the primary election, had taken him to court while the matter ‘is still sub judice’.
He accused Ajulo Opin of being desperate to retain his parliament seat while asserting that the Isin/Ekiti/ Oke-Ero/Irepodun federal constituency people were only enduring the federal lawmaker’s foolery and only awaiting the election day when he will be red-carded.
‘Actually, he lost the moral high ground a few weeks ago, he was seeking to get APC senate nomination and after losing out in the primary election, he took desperate measures and steps to snatch the reps nomination from someone who had already laboured and fought to get it, he is a very desperate man , he did all these to protect where he is getting free money but our people will vote wisely this time around, he has wasted his time and energy holding a campaign kickoff, our mumu don do, he will be red-carded on the election day’ he submitted- Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
