Son Kills Father To Have Access To His Bank Account In Kwara
Ibrahim Hassan has been arrested and taken into custody by the police in Kwara state.
He was arrested for allegedly killing his father, a nonagenarian, in order to have access to his bank account.
Spokesman for the Nigeria Police Force in Kwara state, Mr. Ajayi Okasanmi, a Superintendent of Police, told journalists at the state police headquarters including Team@orientactualmags.com on Thursday that the deceased, a retired army corporal , had gotten injected with drugs that made him become dizzy by Ibrahim.
‘On 5/8/2022, one Aishat Ibrahim ‘F’ reported a case of missing person (her father) one Sabi Ibrahim ‘M’ , a 90 –year- old retired army corporal , to the police Command, the circumstances of his disappearance elicited suspicion hence the resolve of the Command to get to the root of it.
Investigation into the matter led to the arrest of one Ibrahim Hassan ‘M’ ,a biological son of the missing old man.
During investigation, the suspect confessed to injecting the deceased with paracetamol mixed with other substances adding that he had become weak and dizzy immediately after the injection, this he had done after himself and the retired soldier had visited a Wema Bank branch and returned home.
The deceased had renewed and gotten a new ATM card.
Ibrahim took his father on a motorcycle he had borrowed to an isolated uncompleted building and strangled him. After the retired soldier had died, he dug a shallow grave where he buried his father and left with the Wema Bank ATM card .
He left for Kaduna state and started withdrawing from his late father’s bank account and he had withdrawn a total sum of 59,000 naira.
He stated further that the purpose of killing his father was to dispossess him of the ATM card since he already knows the pin. He also sold the borrowed motorcycle and fled to Kaduna state where he was eventually arrested.
The ATM card and the stolen motorcycle have been recovered.
