Speaker Mudasiru Obasa Wins 6th Term In Lagos…It’s 2nd Term For Speaker Danladi In Kwara
Speaker Mudashiru Obasa of Lagos state won a sixth term on Saturday. He would be retaining his Agege 1 parliament seat in the state assembly in June this year.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned INEC Returning Officer for the House of Assembly election in Agege 1 state constituency, Dr Lukman Adeniji announced Obasa as winner of the election at the Collation Centre in Orile Agege on Sunday.
He noted that Obasa got 17,214 votes , Raheem Alani of the Labour Party had 3,933, Kafayat Biobaku of the African Democratic Congress got 62 votes while the PDP had 1,609 votes.
‘Mubashiru Obasa of the All Progressives Congress having satisfied the requirements of the law, has scored the highest number of votes, he is hereby declared the winner and returned elected’ Adeniji said.
In Kwara state, Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Hon Yakubu Salihu Danladi has also won a second term.
He would also be retaining his Ilesha-Gwanara parliament seat in June this year.
The Returning Officer, Dr Adewale Rafiu, while announcing the election results, said Danladi-Salihu, who was the APC candidate, got 14, 949 votes, while Usman Abubakar of the PDP had 2,072 votes.
‘Yakubu Danladi-Salihu of APC, having satisfied the requirements of the law is hereby declared the winner and is returned elected’ he submitted.
In his acceptance speech, Danladi-Salihu lauded his constituents for their massive support which had led to his victory, assuring them that he would continue to prioritize their welfare.
‘I wish to thank my constituents for the show of love and massive support that earned me this sweet victory in the house of assembly election.
I will continue to appreciate and thank them and I will reciprocate this rare kind gesture with another superlative performance in office while prioritizing people’s welfare’ he added- Team@orientactualmags.com
